About
My name is Zack Tollman. I am Application Performance Architect at Condé Nast. While I am well versed in general web development, WordPress is my bread and butter. I enjoy working on WordPress projects, writing plugins, and helping other learn about appreciate how incredible the WordPress software is. Additionally, I am interested in performance and security.
From 2012 to 2019 I spoke at conferences and meetups pretty regularly, mostly about WordPress caching, web performance, and helping big sites move to HTTPS. The two I am proudest of are my 2014 keynote at WordCamp Ventura County, on what performance metrics actually tell you, and "Defining Fast: The Hardest Problem in Performance Engineering", which I gave at WordCamp US 2019. Slides, video, and the rest of the back catalog are on the speaking page.
I hope to be writing about fun and interesting WordPress, performance, and security topics for the foreseeable future. I hope to expand on the structure of the site and add a few features along the way. I also tend to use personal sites as testing grounds for new ideas and concepts, so there will definitely be some downtime along the way.
